Patriot Properties :: your source for assessing solutions

Patriot Properties is pleased to announce our newest North Carolina customer, Orange County.

Our project with Orange County is going to help streamline and enhance their current PIN (parcel identification number) application and CAMA system. Patriot will be re-writing their current PIN application into an updated, user friendly system for both County employees and the public users. Orange County is unique in the fact that they are the only county in North Carolina that requires that parcel numbers be certified PRIOR to being used for recording any documents.

Because of this practice, they have a specialized process for assigning and querying PINs and Patriot is customizing a system so that the process will become more efficient. It will greatly reduce duplicate data entry from the individuals that are involved in this process.

Nestled in the hills of the North Carolina, Orange County is located between the Research Triangle Park and the Triad cities of Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point. With more than 126,000 citizens, Orange County includes historic Hillsborough, the county seat; Chapel Hill, home of the University of North Carolina; and Carrboro and Mebane, former railroad and mill towns.

When Orange County was founded in 1752, five Native American tribes were already living in this area. Two years later, William Churton laid out the boundaries of Hillsborough on land where the Great Indian Trading Path crossed the Eno River.

The County encompasses 400 square miles of rolling farms and forest, vital urban centers and small towns. Orange County combines the best of cosmopolitan and rural values with an abundance of historical, social and cultural resources.

“Orange County’s PIN application is clever and original business reengineering of a process that stymies almost all cities and counties as they try to assign parcel identification numbers. Orange has figured out a way to streamline the process while guaranteeing complete accuracy. Patriot’s challenge is to refine the current process through the use of modern software tools, extending dynamic interfaces to the GIS mapping system and the Recorder of Deeds data,” commented Jack Harris the County’s Project Facilitator.

Patriot will be working with IIS in integrating AssessPro (CAMA system) with the NCPTS (tax system) to provide a seamless integration between the “best of breed” for an ideal solution for the County.

Patriot is looking forward to this new relationship with the County and for the opportunity to help them provide technological advancements to the citizens and the County employees.
